It seems like it was just yesterday that Southwest Discovery opened up its doors in Scottsdale as a small boutique-style Destination Management Company. We offered a limited number of tours, activities and special events. But that was over 28 years ago! How things have changed! Phoenix has now become the sixth largest city in the country and one of the major cities for meetings, conferences and conventions. Scottsdale, once known as the West’s Most Western Town, is now a sophisticated must-visit city with luxurious resorts, top-rated golf courses and a lively night-life. What hasn’t changed; Scottsdale still retains that unique and irresistible charm of the Old West of the early 1900’s.
And with the passing years, Southwest Discovery also has changed. We have grown from the small boutique style Destination Management Company to consistently placing among the top 25 Destination Management and Event Planning Companies in the Phoenix Business Journal’s prestigious “Book of Lists”. The Phoenix Business Journal, the most widely read publication by the business community, ranks every Arizona company in over 100 industries. At year's end they publish their eagerly awaited "list" containing only those companies that placed in the top 25. From a limited number of services, Southwest Discovery, now offers a "endless list of services" to local, national and international clients that range in size from the very small social groups to convention groups with over 18,000 attendees.
What hasn’t changed is our dedication and personalized service to our clients. From the very first day we opened our doors our primary allegiance has been and will continue to be to our clients. We are not affiliated with any hotel, venue, caterer, or any other service provider. Our clients’ objectives, budgets and priorities determine the companies we work with and the “endless services” we provide.
